I’m Done With Seiko…

.. and I love them.

But after discovering this glorious/dreadful hobby in 2022, I started out by dipping my toe in the Seiko pool with a Seiko Recraft..

Image

After the Recraft, I started to come out of my watch-collecting shell and added the Seiko Turtle SRPE03 to the collection.

After removing the candy bar magnifier and adding a Beads of Rice bracelet to the Turtle, I felt the need for speed… Speedtimer, that is.

So the SSC813 joined the family as well as another Strapcode jubilee bracelet.

With a Seiko chronograph now in the collection, Seiko released a killer GMT, so naturally, I had to get the SSK003.

After covering a variety of styles of Seiko watches like a retro, a diver, a chrono, a GMT, I thought a Seiko dress watch would be fun and added the DresSKX to the collection and added a Strapcode jubilee to this one, as well as modding it with a sapphire crystal and a signed crown.

Which essential Seiko could possibly be missing from my collection?

Hmmm… lemme think about this. 🤪

While pondering this question, I received a “we miss you” email from Strapcode offering a nice discount on their bracelets.

Well, not to miss out on a discounted bracelet🙄, I ordered the two-tone Angus-J Louis JUB which is enroute.

So, since I ordered the bracelet, I needed a watch to complement that bracelet and the only watch that comes to my mind for this two-tone jubilee is the Seiko Alpinist.

The iconic green dial, outfitted with the gold numerals and indices along with those gold cathedral-style hands.

The Seiko Alpinist is ordered. With the addition of a Seiko field-styled watch, I think I’m done with Seiko (… for now 😉😀).

When I get it… you’ll see it. 👍

It’s been on my list for awhile now and fits in line with my more-focused watch-buying plan for 2024. We’ll, I’d hardly call my plan of not buying anymore Promasters a plan but you gotta start somewhere. 🙄😀

Anyway, I’m looking forward to adding the Alpinist to my “collection”.

How do you think an orange, cathedral-styled, second hand would look? 🤪

🤣 Tbh it’s one watch I wouldn’t mod, seiko nailed it I think with the Alpinist, perfect field, utility GADA whatever you want to call it !

I have the SARB17 and it’s glorious, The strap that you’ve ordered is gonna look fantastic on it and I’m sure when you wear it you will connect with the Alpinist and never let it go 😉

You're never done with Seiko. One cannot just simply be done with Seiko. It's like a parasite. Once the bug bites you, it's impossible to get rid of it. Seiko will produce a new model and we are right back to square one. There is no cure.

·

One is never "done" with Seiko. Too much variety in their lineup. I don't think any other watch company comes close. I have a 8 watch collection and 5 are Seikos lol

·

Excellent collection! Yes, you now have a Seiko dress, but not a cocktail time dress. Don’t know how you feel about red, but a Negroni would complement your other watches nicely. BTW, the Recraft and Alpinist GMT are on my list.

The Strapcode bracelet arrived and it is quite nice. Now just awaiting the arrival of the Alpinist.
