Need Opinions on New Hamilton Khaki 42mm

Hello All

The largest wstch I have ever had was my Movado 800 thats 40mm. I picked up a Hamilton Khaki Field watch thats 42mm and I am 2nd guessing the size on my 7-1/4” wrist. What do you think? Exchange for a 40mm somethingelse? Just being too picky?

The weight, thickness, lug to lug distance (I guess around 50mm in this one) and the lugs shape are no less important. I believe this watch is going to wear true to its size if not bigger, so a bit of a challenge for a 7-1/4" wrist. However, the answer is simple - just try it on, and you'll know...

The way I find best for deciding on size is to put your hand on your chest and look in a mirror.

I have one and love it. My wrist is just over 8”. My opinion, when you look down at it in your wrist, how does it make you feel?

I have the field mechanical with a white dial in 38mm. With near 7.5in wrists, it’s refreshing to wear a ”smaller” than usual watch. 42 was too big even on my wrist.

I don't have any direct experience with this watch, but it looks like a handsome watch.  At 7-1/4 wrist size I don't see it being too big on your wrist.

I'm close to buying my first HK. I own several Alpinist. Both 40mm and 38mm. One thing holding me back is the case size decision.

My baby Alpinist is 38 and it looks cute/correct on my 7 1/2 wrist. The 40mm tic-tac (racing green) is a bit more dressy and it looks great at 40mm.

So, I'm torn. Currently I'm leaning towards the 40mm quartz (below). But maybe it's not dressy enough for the larger dial. I'll almost certainly by another one later. So maybe I should just go for it.

Oh, yeah. Back to your decision. yep 42mm is too big.😐

Thanks - I returned it and 40 is my max. I ordered a Christopher Ward 40mm diver they have a new model available to preorder with high end features and retro diver They cane out with last year. I really like their watches.
