Are Seiko limited edition releases traditionally late?

Team WC -

Preordered a limited black edition Willard.   Release date was listed as April.   We are now at the end of May and my AD still does not have one.

Is this type of delay normal in the limited edition or Seiko world?  just curious

Unfortunately, I haven’t experience any delays with my order only perhaps my pieces are maybe readily available. I can ask my AD if you like and inquire about this limited piece and if there’s a delay?

I appreciate it but I already put 1/2 down at my regular dealer..  And I don't think its their fault just wondering if its normal to have a delay..    This is the first limited edition Seiko I have purchased.

Thanks for the response and the offer!

No worries, anytime plus gives me an excuse to go to the store anyways 😉

The Seiko gods are just putting the final touches on your watch: hand polishing with a golden fleece, spit shining with magic saliva and conditioning the surface with god lube. So please be patient :)

I have a frien  who is,  like me, a Seikofile who had a similar experience. I believe it is the limited addition part of the equation

“God lube”

The less I know about what that is, the better.
