It is not always possible to remove an equal number of links from both sides and have the perfect length. It's more important that the bracelet closes and the watch fits well.
Not only, but the majority of links from the 6 o'clock side. Have a weirdly shaped wrist, so need more links on the 12 o'clock side to have it centre on the bottom of the wrist. It drives me insane when it doesn't!

I usually end up with several less links on the 6 o'clock side in order for the clasp to center properly. But how many depends on the bracelet.

I’ve got a smaller 6.5” wrist so…I remove a lot of links. Longer at the 12, shorter at the 6.
I take more off the 6 o clock. Stops the watch head riding up the wrist and keeps it centred
