Today I am back wearing my Seiko 5 SNXS73 to kick off the SNXS week initiated by @hakki501.
Whenever I put on my SNXS, I am immediately reminded of why I bought this sharp looking and affordable Seiko. After reading many articles and watching some YouTube videos that it is a homage to the Rolex OP, I purchased the SNXS73 in April last year.
I enjoy wearing the watch and the vibes are always positive. Then in September last year while browsing an online marketplace, I chanced upon what I thought was a used SNXS79. Upon closer inspection, I realised that the watch had an older 7009 movement, although it looked exactly like a SNXS.
I bought the watch which was not working off the seller. After some research, I found out that Seiko was already making these models in the 80s. Recently, I sent it to my watchmaker for repairs and the vintage 1980s 7009-3040 is now working fine.
May I then, perhaps suggest that the OP could be the homage of the SNXS? :))
