Grand Seiko SBGA493, Red limited edition
Once again I am blown away by the sheer quality of Grand Seiko, I have several watches from brands that are considered higher end tier than GS, but few of them have dials and finishing on the level of this watch. Pictures (especially from an iPhone) don’t do it justice. The watch is stunning in person.

That’s the problem with GS, photos really don’t do the it justice.
I'm a GS fan boy. I only have one. In my opinion GS has made some of the most beautiful watches out there. I think they punch way above their weight. That red dial is stunning. I have a 413.
Red Katana looks amazing in photos. Can’t imagine what it looks like in person. Beautiful. That’s a grail for me, for sure.
There amazing at finsh and dials at GS. They are definitely worth the investment in my opinion
There are several post on the same watches, it is very popular. I like the green dial samurai. I own winter shunbun.

@Jeffonthelake awesome looking watch. I found a similar color special edition while traveling around Asia. I didn't purchase it because either here or on another forum, a guy that had like 5 GS watches in his collection said he wanted to buy a red one like that but was afraid he would get tired of seeing that shade of red everyday.
I was thinking to get the similar colored asia variant but was afraid as well, as a daily driver (and this one you've shown is definitely a one watch watch collection type daily driver you should/could wear for the next 20 years), but over the next few years this shade might grow tough to look at everyday.
As the owner, what are your thoughts after these last few months? (I like red and orange and bright green shades more than other colors, but was thinking a blue GS might be easier on the eyes over the course of many years)

Ok now you are making me jealous. That was the other one I was looking at. Their were both on jomashop for a week before they got snatched up quickly. Felt a tinge of regret for both when they went out of stock 😢. They were marked down to 5500$. There is a new neon green im eyeing it's 7000$. But I originally wanted just to spend 5000$. Now I'm looking at watches at 7k$ so a bit chicken to pull the trigger on the GS from the AD at that range 😆
