From Seiko to Citizen.

In recent months I've shifted mostly to #citizen watches or watches with #miyota movements. I used to own #seikos but was frustrated many times with the quality control issues of Seiko dive watches and their large or even thick cases depending on the product.

I've found Citizen products don't have the issues Seiko watches have. In my opinion, Citizen watches have comparable and even better specs, better quality control, and Citizen watches are competitively priced. It is almost as if, Citizen is in the place where Seiko was 10 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the Seiko watches I owned and the company makes good quality products. I also want to stress that this post is not intended as a swipe or insult directed at Seiko fans, rather criticism of the brand itself.

Over time, the issues I experienced with Seiko time pieces got to the point where I decided to change and I've been very satisfied.

I can't add much since I've only purchased one Citizen. An impulse buy during a sales promotion. An inexpensive titanium eco drive. It's anti magnetic, shock resistant, 200m, sapphire and +- .5. seconds a day. Not 5 seconds, point 5. You take it out of the box and leave it in the sun for 5-6 hours. You're good to go for 15 years. No winding no battery no service. I found out you adjust the time twice a year. Bonus - the most comfortable watch you can buy on a metal bracelet. Weights nothing

I owned the second version of the Citizen Promaster Tough. This one looks much more refined or improved. Good luck with it and thanks for sharing!

They make subtle improvements to this watch. Improved clasp, drilled lugs, new font for the numerals.
