Did you remove the crystal to get to the index ring or were you able to remove the internal steel ring behind it?
Through the crystal. I think the ring is integral to that inner casing. Any of the GA-2100s would be a much easier base for projects because of that. I wanted the bluetooth time syncing, and prefer not to have the negative displays.

My GAB has the negative display and, frankly, I’m not impressed with it. It’s my first watch with a digital display and I find the display quite small and hard to read unless the light is good or the internal LEDs are activated. On the positive side, it’s much easier to use the functions through the phone app than by pressing the buttons, and the watch itself is a handsome piece of kit.
