Dress watch advice

What would your suggestion be for someone who is looking for a vintage/ vintage-inspired dress watch?

I've looked at Vintage Omega seamaster, Cartier tank lineup, Longines heritage lineup, Grand Seiko and nomos to name a few and still undecided.

I'm looking for something sized 37mm or smaller, Gold tone indices and/ case, leather strap, preferably domed sapphire crystal.

With those five selections you seem to be going in all directions at once: modern, vintage, classic.

I have no idea what you like only that size is a requirement. Lots of discussion on what is a "dress" watch here recently and no real consensus was reached. Since you are in London, I will throw a suggestion at you that is not typically Swiss or high-end Japanese:

1958 to 1968 Hamilton, in gold, round dial, all indices (no, or few numerals). Pay more for N.O.S. or near condition.

The size will be right, it will seem Piaget thin, and it won't be what everyone else in your circle is wearing. It can be dressed up or down.

Edit: mechanical movements, Hamilton electric movements are a trick bag.

Sounds like it's a hidden gem the one you mentioned. Cheers.

My vote is for a Seamaster 166.010.  They fit the bill perfectly. They are well-built and stylistically versatile. It is a straightforward, minimalist sports/dress watch measuring around 35mm in diameter.  You can find loads of them on the market.

I eyed up on them a bit as well. Great suggestion. Cheers
