Cheap banger I got from AliExpress for about $4. Soki full lume dial. Runs great, really accurate (quartz, duh). I did take the hands off and color them full black with a Sharpie, because a shiny silver hand with a white lume strip in the middle is super hard to see day or night on this kind of dial. But now, super easy to read, and the lume is so good, it keeps up with my Zelos full lume dial.

Interesting! I have about 10 of these in my basket after reading a random article on them.. and even though they're cheap I wasn't sure.

Is it still going well now? I might pull the trigger on a bundle of them 😉😀

Thanks!

I've actually got 4 of them I bought in a batch. Two of them were identical besides the strap, oops! But anyways, they are pretty good for the money. Like I said, on this one, I colored the hands black and made it so much better! And I've of the others had all 3 hands brown on a black dial, but I've of the others had a red seconds hand, so I swapped the red seconds hand onto the black dial with brown hands, much nicer. And being as cheap as they are, they are running super accurate, and I don't mind wearing them, light and accurate, great for working around the house.

I love that idea of personalisation done easily and well. I'd love to see some more pics!

Personalization makes this hobby so much more fun, and it's quite a rabbit hole! Started with a hand swap on a Vostok, then these hand color changes on the Soki, and now I've got 2 Seiko-powered full custom builds done, and want to do more! Need to finish the latest one still though.

Love it. I bought one watch that needs some love... Needs a rear case back, a new crystal because there isn't one and a new seconds hand.... Any idea where to start with any of it? I'm a bit lost but it's lovely so I really want to get it working

Depends on the make and model of the watch. I haven't ventured far from Seiko for the big stuff yet. But if you can find out the movement inside, you can check Caliber Corner, and figure out what size the hand you need is. It's a place to start, but I haven't done any repairs like this yet. I do have a Victoriaox that needs a new crystal though, so I need to head down that road too.
