Yeah it’s almost not worth it. Unless you can go and see it in person, I wouldn’t buy it on eBay. Check Chrono24 or something like that. Or reach out to a private dealer who can try to find you one. They’re older so they have been polished to Hell, there have been wrong or different movements out in them or the wrong hands on the wrong model.

I had 2 go through my hands at this point; both with the correct movement and all original parts. I loved it! However, one recurring issue (i personally ran into), well, more like 2 issues: the crown and the date wheel. The crown seems to grind down over time, so it looses friction with the movement; thus making it impossible to operate the time and date after a while. Sometimes the crown could easily be pulled out with no effort. The other issue is the date wheel. It seems like this model specifically suffers from a defect that makes the date wheel extremely prone to breaking/getting stuck. Both issues could be fixed; however, it is nearly impossible to find the parts anymore. Even the crown, it can not be replaced with just any other generic crown, the stem is weirdly thin, which is why it also happens to almost always grind down. This is why I ended up selling both of my watches, they required a lot of care (babying)... Where am I going with this? Just wanted to let you know what to look out for, and to be extremely careful (more than usual) when changing the time and date on this watch.

I have something similar, it’s a Ricoh dynamic wide.

Given its age, these things are quite flimsy and definitely need to be babied. Consolation is these pieces can be easily serviced by any competent technician.

You could take a chance on eBay, but I would definitely prefer handling one before committing to buying.

If you’d want something of this look, you can consider titoni cosmo king or the mido commander

Looks really nice. I love my Ricoh GR camera, if it's anything like that in terms of build quality and use, it must be great 😃
