Invicta = Disappointment

Have you ever wanted a watch, whether through recommendation, reviews or even photos, which took you a long time to get and when you had it the only thing you felt was... nothing? This is what happened to me with this 1953 Invicta where I read and saw photos where they said that it was the first serious Invicta with a great sense of paying homage to Rolex, it took me almost a year to get it, however when I had it it seemed like a watch with crude finishes, a super flimsy bezel that comes off and very easy scratch which I replaced with a ceramic one, a poor luminescence and a Seiko movement that is reliable with the famous yellow Invicta rotor but no more, a soulless watch that never managed to satisfy me no matter how hard I tried despite 8 months of use.

Tell do you have a story like mine? With wich watch?

Yes, multiple times!! Sell it & buy something you can fall in love with. Sadly, it's all part of the hobby 👍🏻

Sorry to hear about your 1953 man ... oddly the Pro Diver 8926 doesn't seem to be reported with the same issues as your '53??

Maybe you just got a bum one?

the '53 is a fabulous looking watch though!

I’ve had pretty much the same experience with every Ali Express watch I’ve bought based on recommendations. Steeldive Willard, Baltany Dirty Dozen, some Cadisen thing JOMW reccomended, Escapement Time King Seiko homage. All objectively nice watches but I felt no connection with them so they’ve all been sold.

Yes it is a good looking watch, but in the hand it has a terrible bracelet and the experience even though that is a cheap watch the sense, finishes and all of "the experience" is very disappointing!

I have bought some of those watches and they have not seemed as bad an experience as this Invicta and I have had Pagani, Baltany and Steeldive
