Can you feel the love?
It had been my only watch for so many years. It woke me up countless times, it went through all my teenage years, it was there with me during my ups and downs, during many of my first experiences. It is now a safebox for my memories. It is my little time machine: everytime I look at it, random memories from my youth start surfacing: some are sweet, some are bitter but all of them are precious to me. A cheap, common, now old watch that has become so much more.
I decided to give it a new rubber strap, it arrived yesterday and I fitted it this morning. So, after 40 years together, my old friend is still sitting on my wrist, very lightly, hardly noticeable. Yes, it still tells me the time but the truth is it has become so much more than a cheap, common, old watch. It is a silent witness that can speak with a loud voice.

Unluckily they all got destroyed or disassembled years ago, guess I am a victim of not being a G-Shock fan 😂 The watch you have there is lovely Marlin, quite often the best vintage strap to match the design is one for W-100 / W-200 / W-300 / W-400 - still available today you know where.

G-Shock never resonated with me either. It is a shame the Marlin are not available anymore. Thanks for the straps suggestion!
