I was really surprised when this watch arrived. In my opinion, the dial is much more handsome than my old SARB035. The indices are applied, multi faceted, and have an amazing level of finishing at this price point. The hands are also faceted with a half polished , half frosted finish - and the case, while not having the mult-dimensional and angular planes + black polishing that would be found in more premium seiko offerings, does have some very distinct and well-done circular brushing and very sharp lines where the different finishes meet. The bracelet is, well, ok. It does have a nice taper from 20mm to 16mm, a milled swing arm on the clasp, solid links, and Seikos half solid, half hollow end link system - where the center, solid female link is used to bind the case to the bracelet while a hollow endlink wraps around it to fill any spaces between the lugs and the first link. I feel like this was an semi-in-genius way for the folks at Seiko to save money while still keeping the bracelet durable. And with 100m of water resistance, it really makes this piece the ultimate all-purpose watch. I have to say, of all the affordable Seikos out there sub $500 (msrp Is $550, but I snagged this for $275 on amazon) - this dial most represents the style and elegance that seiko offers at the Grand Seiko/King Seiko level, and I’ve gotten more compliments on this piece than others that are 5-8 times the price. Solid!

It is an awesome piece, bud! Does look better than the SARB035, and seems more versatile, adaptable, and beautiful. Plus, for the price, it's bang for buck! Cheers and enjoy! 🍻

The Seiko SZSB013 works really well on a brown leather strap.

Definitely! I also have a beautiful blue leather strap with slightly Lighter blue contrast stitching that looks amazing on this watch. I’m just waiting for the weather to cool down a bit 😉
