High Tech or Is Kalle Slaap just a Grumpy old man lol?

A little information about Tissot Movement from Watch maker Kalle Slaap.

I think that there is an element of grumpiness in Mr. Slaap, but I enjoy his videos, including this one. His videos are very informative, but without that grumpiness his videos would not be as entertaining.

I am not overly bothered with the plastic parts. I wish there wasn’t any plastic. He’s a watchmaker. Has valid concerns about this, and what this means for the future of mechanical movements. If I purchase a watch with a powermatic 80, which I probably won’t, I will replace the PM80 when it dies or fails to keep proper time with a genuine ETA 2824 myself.

I think plastic parts are just more common now. I saw a diassembly of a Seiko 6R movement and also had plastic parts.

Yeah. The 4R series Seiko movements have them too.

As far as Kalle is concerned, he seems quite amused in most of his videos. Never seen someone as excited about repairing a hairspring.
