Why not the Citizen? Just as "accomplished" as Seiko, just as "iconic" in design, and also not an "every watch collector needs a _____" brand.
Also, the crown at the 7 likely will be more comfortable while doing manual labour.
All great points! Though the turtle's 4 O'Clock crown is in a position and practically flush to the point where I never feel it. One of the most comfy watches I've ever worn. Though the citizen is too with that 8 O'Clock crown. @minutemeg
I've done a lot of sailing and any decent water-resistant watch will do. If the crown is biting your hand, you're wearing the watch too far down your wrist.
Better made, zero chance of QC issues, true diver's watch by ISO standard, lower profile height, crown position is optimal for activity.
Thanks! I own all of these so I've already tested some of the QC points. The srp777 is also ISO rated and quite comfy. Though I guess only slightly outdated because the newer regulations state there has to be a lumed index on all positions and the older ones didn't have one on the 3 o'clock because of the day date. I suspect that's why the turtle is now srpe93 instead of srp777! It's funny though, the crown position is partially why I got the citizen, but the turtles shape and 4 O'Clock crown make it honestly one of the most comfy I've ever worn. Have you worn a turtle? Love the thoughts.
