Had a fabulous weekend in Brasov, Romania. Surprised to see Swiss & Japanese watches were far more expensive than in the UK when pretty much everything else was much cheaper.

That is weird. Perhaps there's a tariff applied to luxury goods imported to Romania. Non EU country at this time is it not?

It's EU but I think it is due to the shops I visited just treating the RRP as minimum price. TAX is similar to UK.
