Redifining value one strap at the time: One week on the Wrist Pd1717 review

Why would I get this watch I asked myself a few times before buying it almost 3 weeks ago now.

First I was eyeing it for almost a year but the price was a deal breaker being over 150$ (Can) I felt this was alot of money for a Chinese homage.

But then the price went down to 78$ and this was fairly reasonable to see what Pagani Design had to offer.

Also I did not have a white dial in my humble collection and loved my Baby alpinist spb155 that I felt was a little simlilar in size and vibe.

Being a full time chef I'm also looking for a tough build watch so Saphyre cristal and a good water resistance is always welcome. So how did this watch perform so far?I have to say it is very impressive how Pagani design came up with such a beautiful textured dial and let's admit it it's the principle aspect of this watch that rises above all and what attracted me in the first place!

The applied numerals and the red second hand makes this dial a Stunner for such a affordable timepiece!

It is legible crisp and pleasing to look at for sure!

The brushing on the bezel could have been better but the overall finish is okay at least for a watch I'll wear mainly at work.

The lume is hmm... Let's skip that part okay?

The bracelet looks a little cheap but it is comfortable and very flexible. Good job!

The Seiko Nh35 seems very accurate so far with a plus 8-10 seconds a day performance which I'm satisfied with. This is an homage of the Longines Spirit a watch that I'll probably never buy because of its price point...

Final words

If you are looking for a good looking gada that won't brake the bank I can certainly recommend this watch. It's a strap lover and fairly solid for all sorts of activities!

That's a cool texture of the dial!

PD has been killing it lately. I feel soon they'll be nipping at the heels of San Martin

SM costs are moving up these days so they're value proposition is suffering compared to other micros

To be honest it's my first watch from this Chinese market so it's difficult for me to compare with any other brands but now I have a starting point if I ever want to try others. San Martin seems to be very good judging from many reviews but they would have to come down in prices for me to buy one. Perhaps my Pagani won't be my last China watch.

It's nice to have some options and I'm not disappointed at all so far in this first experience with Pagani.

Pagani Design has proven to me their worth. Got a few, including this automatic I was sporting today. Thanks for the review, it's nice to see someone agree with me about this brand.
