Don't or do but be aware!

As watch enthousiasts we can sometimes buy spontaneously or even thinking that this watch or this other seems perfect for our needs or desire.

Many of us, I'm sure, will also buy a watch before even trying it. With the help of YouTube or blogs we try to make the best decision possible because it cost alot of our hard earn money.

Is there a watch or something related to it could be straps or accessoires box etc that disappointed you so far? Perhaps you could give us a few reasons that a review didn't mention or this is obvious for you that it's something specific that anyone should know before buying?

Last spring I acquired the Timex Q chronograph. Even if I feel this watch has some good interesting things to mention like the beautiful dial and vintage feel I felt disappointed in what I got versus what I read or saw on different blogs or reviews.

The dial being very difficult to read in any circumstances for instance or that its barely impossible to find some good strap options.

The point here is not to rant or complain but to tell us why a certain product did not fullfill your expectations or just a big disappointment.

The goal here is to maybe help others being more informed making the next purchase even more easy (or complicated 😅)

I'm curious to see what's your opinion about this and if, like myself, had a big MEH after a few days or week with a watch or anything related to watches.

For me a watch I definitely missed the mark on was my orient Sun&Moon v3 I watched many videos and looked at tons of pictures and didn’t even realize that the watch is to big for my wrist I ended up enjoying the watch for only a couple of months as I slowly realized it was to big and didn’t fit my lifestyle now I haven’t worn the watch in almost a year.

Anyway because I dropped the ball on that watch for any watch purchase $1000 or more I have to see it in person or really take a lot of time before I buy a new piece

Yes spending alot and realizing this watch is not the proper size is a good example that its better to try it once before buying! With how easy is online shopping now it's sometimes difficult to be patient enough or go in some stores if it's available to try! Thanks!

I bought a Citizen Darth Vader online in April 2022. I barely wear it. Less than once a month now.

Its fairly illegible in low right & has no lume.

I wish I hadn't bought it.

Another good reason for me to not show any interest in those super heroes watch from Citizen! Thanks!

Personally for me a mechanical watch is a piece of art that someone put their imagination into it. For me it is less about, if can I see the time on it in 1 sec. If I buy a watch when I look at it for time I want to look at it for more than 3s, I want to admire it first while I am checking the time while I am checking its unique details. Sometimes I dont look at my watch to check time, I look at it because I want to admire that piece of art on my wrist. (That is why there are watches just for checking time and there are watches to sit and look at it exploring every bit of it). This my personal opinion ofcourse 😌

Yes, I have some very readable-at-first-glance watches but also some with beautiful dials which are not so legible at first glance. Then one second later, I turn my arm a bit and not only can I read the time, the dial takes on a whole new look.
