Does your watch give you that extra something?

I'm curious to know if any of you, like I do sometimes, put on a watch just to motivate you into an activity or some tasks?

Today I was feeling very lazy but you know some work around the house yard work needs to be done once in a while right?

Then i imidiately look into my watches options and putting this gshock gave me that little something more to go and do my stuff.

Maybe a dressier watch makes you feel more handsome and confident?

I think watches have this power that gives you a little edge or boost and that is not often mentioned about them.

What do you feel about this?

Show us a watch that gives you that "je ne sais quoi" (Yeah I'm francophone...) thing!

I think if you love watches and you pick the right one for the occasion, you'll know it and enjoy the experience even more.

I cycle through 8 gshocks for work mon-fri. Its called habit stacking i only wear them when iam being productive and getting physical. So when i wear them it triggers that need.

Sure does!

I’m the opposite, I choose the watch for the activity. The watch doesn’t motivate me to do any more or less.

Plus the lumber truck could fall over on the Aragon and it would still work.

Fred there is definitely something to this. I do a walk every morning that takes 40 minutes. I have a lot of different watches, and sometimes I don't feel like doing the walk. Wearing a different watch (or two) gets me out the door.

To time the 40 minutes, I usually wear a chronograph like my giant Seiko SE-SSB089, or a watch with a dive bezel like my Seiko, Wenger or Aragon. On the other arm I will wear my newest watch or reacquaint myself with an old one. Not only will there be a watch on each arm, I will usually put a Seiko 5 with a 7s26 in my pant leg pocket to keep it wound up.
