What was your first wristwatch & Do you still own it? Here is mine... and the story behind it :)

My debut post on this channel has to be the first wristwatch I ever owned. 😍 Therefore I consider it to be the most important watch in my collection. When I randomly found this watch in a shelf at my parents' house just a few months ago, I was not only surprised that they apparently still have it (other then my beloved Pokémon cards or Lego Star Wars that have been sold or gifted, thanks mum!), but I also felt a bit relieved. Because I truly hoped that my first wristwatch, if I will ever find it again, will be something cool! And this one is something I would definitely recommend my 7 year old me to buy - or to annoy my parents until they buy it for me 😬 I was good at this game. 🍊 Orange still is one of my favorite colors when it comes to details on a watch today. I am a big fan of the orange-hand Speedmaster, Doxa Sub, Nomos etc. And I am pretty sure that it was a great fit to my orange Nike baller bracelet or my windbreaker jacket in the 90s. I presume that the grey strap, case and dial has made this watch a great daily wearer as you can see with the many scratches and dirt. I am sure it followed me around at kindergarten, playground battles, Capri Sun drinking, producing Scoubidou bracelets and whatever I was doing back then. Anyways, this watch gives me goosebumps whenever I look at it or wear it (yes, it still kinda fits my wrist 😅). I am very thankful to have this watch in my collection (still/again). I see this watch now as a great kick-off for a beautiful hobby where stories, emotions, connecting with people and giving a "material things" a deeper meaning, bring great joy! Do you remember your first wristwatch? Or maybe also have it in your collection? If so, which one is it? 😍

Great 1st Post and very apt. This is mine but not the actual one, that one got lost in the mists of time long long ago. But I picked this one up from ebay to relive childhood memories (didn't realise how small they are😅). Wondering what to wear today, so you've made my mind up for me the LBT (little black Timex) it is. Oh and your watch is well 😎. Cheers.

Hi! This was my first! But I don't have it anymore. Now I can find it again for 46 Euros on my country Greece as it is sold out from Casio website!!

Thank you for your comment! Haha - I considered mine to be lost for like 20 years... before I found it again. Maybe it will return to you one day, as well. Anyways, great to see another 1st watch here. You can't go wrong with a Timex. I used to have one as well. A T-80 in gold 😄 I have to say that yours is more sophisticated and mature than my first pick 😄 Does your first pick give a hint to your taste in watches of today? Do you still prefer a leather strap and military/pilot watches? A consequence would maybe be a IWC Mark series or Breitling Navitimer? Would be interesting to know.

Really special design from Casio. Never seen that before! Nice with the red details. Will you buy it (again) now that you found it? 😄

My first watch was a Bart Simpson flip open watch. I was on vacation and I accidentally got it hooks on a handrail at the dock and it literally fell into the open mouth of a giant carp…..

Nope. My first watch was a manual wind Micket Mouse watch. Turns out it was a hand me down from my sister and she claimed it when we cleaned out mom's house many many years ago.

I just fit a strap that I think goes with the watch ( i collect straps as well) it came on a base nato so I thought it could with a it of strap love. No real preference to strap styles, I mostly have dive watches, but I do like to have a play.

First watch I can remember is this Seiko Sportsmatic 5.

I found it in 1975 and it is my oldest possession! Gets lots of wrist time too!
