Not so beautiful: Sick kid, plumbing issues and water leak at home, broken derailleur on my commuter bike - arg!

You spent a year in Kyoto? That's fantastic. It's become such a tourist hub I'm not sure I'd want to live there now, but 16 years ago it'd have been incredible I think. Glad to give you some nostalgia my friend!

Good luck with it Alan I think in watches price for stuff too 😂 hope it comes out ok . My next bicycle will have a gearbox on the peddles not a conventional derailleur with a gates drive belt 🙂
