My wife was out of town last week so too occupy myself I did a few watch builds.
The first is a surprise for my friend. He shipped me several of his watches to help him sell and for my efforts he gave me his NIB seiko snk623. It's a watch he always liked the dial on but hated the case. Knowing he has a love for smaller divers I took the movement/dial out of snk623, swapped to side 62mas hands, and re-cased it in a skx013. Happy coincidence is his birthday is next week.
The next build I finally used a dial from awful customs. I used a skx007 as a base and picked up some skeleton hands and a lumed chapter ring. I keep toying with the idea of changing out the bezel or insert but I'm not sure yet.
Lastly I did one more quick build but haven't taken proper photos of yet. It's a snk809 with a simple dial swap though since the red on the second hand doesn't match the dial I'll probably change it out.

These are truly incredible. I have never seen anything like them! I really want to get into modding but get scared. It could be an expensive mistake lol. I have done a sapphire change on my Seiko flight master, and even that was stressful.
Amazing work!
Thanks!

Amazing work!
Modding/building can be pretty addictive. Depending on where you source parts you can do builds under $100 or out can run in the $400 range.
What the...!! That 5 dial is awesome😍 Beautiful work.
Good stuff! Excellent.
Whoa, never seen some of these. Love that cut out dial!
Love that SNK623 mod!
Very cool, indeed! That 623 looks awesome, as do the others. I'll bet he'll be stoked! Love that U1 dial, also. I've had a mod in my head with that dial for a while, now. I've currently got half the parts for my next build, but need to save up a little more money. Hopefully I can get to it in the next month or two.
My friend got it yesterday and has already started trying different bands. He loves it.
