This bureau belonged to my late parents. I didn't want it, my daughter does. She asked me to keep / store it for her, until she has her house extended.
I've spent a couple of hours lightly restoring it's scratches, which I enjoyed doing.
But, the longer I have it, the harder it will become to let go. 🤔

Bedemeyer desk. We have one from my late wife’s father. It belonged to his father who carted it by horse from east Germany to the German/Swiss border just across from Schaufhausen to get away from the advancing Russian Army, well behind the U.S. lines. I sort of hate it… but it has a place of honor because it means so much to my wife.

What, the “I don’t like it part”? She plopped it right in the middle of our living room wall. Nah… it means the world to her.. and I pick my battles. It has a Great story though. Her grandfather operated a medical practice out of this thing. How things have changed.
