Just shortened this. That wasn't easy. I decided to put the cut end inside the clasp, in case it looked messy.
I'm all too aware of smallparts flying into orbit when working on watches. This was another level, a lot of force required to cut through the mesh. The cut segments didn't fly silently into orbit, I heard them ricochet off any nearby surface. That is why the zip bag is in the photo, grab a mesh, place inside bag and cut. Maybe a better pair of cutters would help.
Adjusted the clasp as small as possible, damn, a tad loose on the left wrist.
Fortunately my right wrist is slightly thicker.
No smirking at the back! 😂
I think it looks far better than the ugly spring bar tubes, which I find intrusive.
Slightly eccentric, wicked sense of humour. Self confessed watch cheapskate, who tinkers with watches. Love motorbikes, to date, I've ridden about 250,000 miles, 113,000 of which are on my BMW 1150GS....

Nah, stupidity. 😁

I have to say, that since tinkering with watch movements, my patience threshold has skyrocketed.
Haha, thanks for the first laugh of the morning!
Well done on the shortening!
I'm confused though. You said it was still too large on your left wrist. Can't you just cut off another row?

I could, but I've had enough for the day, the force to cut through the mesh was high.

Come compound cutters will go right through that. Maybe worth getting a pair, for future link cutting?

I took 4 rows out. I couldn't just cut at this point, as the cutters would not fit between the close knit mesh. So I had to start from the open end. This meant that I had to make at least 28 cuts, some couldn't be removed with just one cut. 😢

£27 over here. For the amount of use they'd get, nope.
Thank you for giving me the heads up though. 👍

Also they look too broad to fit into the links

Exactly😁
I bet it was tedious but a pleasantly rewarding job.
