Slightly eccentric, wicked sense of humour. Self confessed watch cheapskate, who tinkers with watches. Love motorbikes, to date, I've ridden about 250,000 miles, 113,000 of which are on my BMW 1150GS....

Yeah, according to vids I've seen, that would do it. At least it would be part of it

Running too fast to register on the timegrapher, I slowed it down to about plus 525 seconds a day, but then the balance wheel stopped.
It would increase the tension in the spring causing it to run faster would be my reasoning 🧐
Is the kink on the overcoil part of the balance Spring? Could it be way out of adjustment & causing the large amount of beat error? Can you reduce the beat error & what effect does that have on the rate? Just some thoughts really. It could be that the moment just needs a service, my Benrus ran 2 hours a day fast when I go it but was fine after service.

I've read a few articles over the last couple of days about watches running fast for reasons other than a defective hairspring, that confused me.

When I take off the balance wheel assembly, more may be revealed.

One unhappy looking hairspring, coils are unevenly spaced. Put the balance assy. back in the movement for now. I've looked into this on YouTube, hmm.
Thanks for the picture, yes the coils aren't evenly spaced & there is what looks like a badly misshapen coil under the other. I think trying to sort this out would be very difficult & time consuming. I'd try the find a replacement balance assembly or doner movement.
