Two years ago I found out about solar powered watces and got instantly into them. I still have Citizen calculator witch I got in 1999, it charges with light and still works in it's original shape. Because I live far from city it meant freedom for me (I believe that watch should work for me not other way around). First I bought Casio Protrek PRW-61-1AER, bought it online without ever seeing it live. I just knew, that it will be my daily beater. Altimeter, compass and thermometer is great addition, use them a lot when hiking, riding bike or swimming.

Next one is Casio GMS Baby-G. I bought it us present for wife. Unfortunately she doesn't wear it us much us I would like (learned in hard way that watch is something personal).

The Festina Solar energy (Miyota M2170 mvt) was impulse buy. Just wanted something that looks great with suit, and it has to be solar powered. Just happened that I was in Riga, went to local jewelry and looked at all solar dress watches that was on offer. Unfortunately there was nothing from Citizen, so Festina it was. Now I am not that happy with it (strap is awful and design could be better), but at least it wasn't a lot of money.

Lorus I bought for my son when he turned 4. I know that it will not live long and happy life. When he will star the school I am planning for G-Shock. That should last for some time 😜

For the future I am planning to add my first automatic watch Tissot Sideral yellow. I just can't get it in Latvia, sou I need to wait till next trip to some bigger EU country to try it (because 1000 EUR is too much of money to spend on something I might not like). Also, the service for the movement might not be done in Latvia (need to look it up yet) and this also might be the deal breaker in the end. Will see how it goes.
