Hey WatchCrunchers! I know that most of you have more than one mechanical/automatic watch in your collection. I currently own only one. So I want to ask you: how do you maintain them everyday?
Only wind the one I'm going to wear - why would I want to wear them out requiring a service sooner?!! (I only have basic autos, no perpetual calendar's)
I keep my higher power reserve watches going by winding them…those with 50+ hours of power reserve. They get wound every other day or so and keep accurate time for weeks. I have five of these.
My lower PR watches get wound and set the morning I wear them and I let them run out if they aren’t going to get wrist time. I have four of these.
All of my mechanicals are automatic, I have yet to experience a manual wind. What I wear gets juggled daily, so what’s worn is what gets wound and set. I also have nothing more complicated than a day/date/24hr.

I heard the opposite from some watch YouTuber, he said that watches are like cars: if they stay for a long time without use, this is not good for them.
I love the feeling of winding a watch, so I wind and set my whole collection once every few days. I don't really wind pieces that are reserved for special occasions, because most of them are fragile and old and I don't really want to wear them out prematurely.
I also like to wind my Edox Delfin regularly, because it has a microscopic crown that hurts my pretty boy soft fingers, so I'd much rather wind it a little bit once every two days than wind it a lot once every wear. Thankfully I'm still in the honeymoon phase and thus wearing it fairly regularly.

So when I first started to collect I would sit at my desk everyday, ( home with an injury), and I would set EVERY watch down to the second. Auto and quartz. Now I just keep an eye on them to make sure that they’re within limits.BUT, when I wear them they get set to the second.
I am a beginner watch collector from Aktau, Kazakhstan. My favorite watch brands are Casio, Orient and Citizen. I like field/sports/flight watches, some dress watches and some chronographs. I prefer q...
