Seamaster White vs SuperOcean Black 2022

Looking for a weekend beater for playing with my kids and does not look out of place at dinner. Was thinking of getting the SMP white dial on Rubber strap but the new Superocean with rubber strap is tempting. The SMP spec is superior especially its movement but also more expensive while the the SO have micro adjustment clasp vs pin buckle and an interesting design. Will not consider bracelet as the SMP bracelet is ugly IMO and the SO have scratch magnet PCL.

Everyone will tell you to go with the omega, but you have to ask yourself…am I comfortable being Around my kids with that dangerously large helium escape valve?  Maybe you’re a man of danger, maybe you think kids these days have it too easy, hell, maybe you feel you have too many kids. Whatever the case, be sure you’re ok with losing one or more child before you get that Omega.

I had the black pre-ceramic seamaster years ago but sold it, didn't realise the helium escape valve is that dangerous?

Just to provide more info, my collection consist of

  1. Longines VHP Blue
  2. Speedy Pro
  3. Santos Large
  4. GMT Master II black
  5. Milgauss z blue

My current thought is that I currently have an Omega and also previously owned the pre-ceramic Seamaster before, didnt like the bracelet. Want to try other brands like Breitling but didn't like their size or design untill this new Superocean came along. My mind tells me Seamaster is a more logical choice in terms of spec and value but my heart seems to lean towards the SO especially it wears better due to being thinner and shorter lug to lug.

History?  Yes. Does it need to be disclosed?  Absolutely it does not.

Mind trick - you are playing with the kids and a ball cracks the crystal. Which watch was on your wrist as you pictured reading the above? Get the other one!
