It’s been a good 15-years since my Colibri Swiss Made Quartz Pocket Watch has had a running battery.
So today, I made the pilgrimage across town to Mount Olympus Clock Shop for a new battery.
While there, I priced a gorgeous Hermle pendulum 8-day wall clock, gazed at some Seiko alarm and melody clocks, and held a new arrival…the Citizen Rebel Pilot. But at over 300 bucks…I had to weepingly-decline.
On the way back, I stopped for an Astro Burger combo at 39th and State, which left me wafting of onions and fry sauce even after a good hand wash.
Upon return from the pilgrimage, I am now able to admire my revived pocket watch as its skeleton hands move from one raised marker to the next…by each rhythmic Swiss Quartz step motor advance.
My Son’s mother gifted me this set in the 90’s. I’m thrilled to still have it, and plan to fasten its fob to my jeans and carry it around once in a while.
Do any of you own a set like this and regularly wear your watch, or have you relegated it to a drawer for a watch’s eternity?
Time dictates my linear path to its bitter end. My watches keep me one step ahead of time...and bring a bit of flavor to my daily duties.
No but that's a nice set you've got, they did a fine range of lighters as well, I reckon you should get one and it would make a perfect trio.

That’s a good idea!
