Watch photography

A lot of cameras can take great macro shots, it's the lens that makes all the difference. I've heard that Fujis have great colours and I've been tempted to pick up an Xt-1 for street photography. I'm currently running a 5D and Olympus OMD system. You could potentially go with a mirrorless, such as one of the canon R series with the ef-m mount. Do a bit of research on lenses, the glass makes all the difference, less so the camera itself, provided that it has the features you need.

Whichever system you're interested in, fuji, Nikon, canon, Sony, om-system, Leica, whatever, just make sure the glass you need is available for the mount system. Adapters are also available, to adapt EF to EF-M for example.

It uses the X mount system, so theres a fair amount of lenses available.

The camera itself has decent resolution, 16mp if I remember correctly and the X-trans sensor.

I highly recommend doing some more research on the best systems, or at least what would work best for you. There's probably better options than the fuji, but that camera is stuck in my head currently lol.

This lives in my bench at work with a set of micro filter lens. Just incase I see something cool I want to photograph.

Check out Mark Holtz on YouTube. He does lots with vintage stuff. Basically with any mirror less you can get an adapter and then use a vintage lens which is way cheaper. Cameras like Sony have focus peaking and other features which makes this really easy. Even if you got an older iteration Sony A7 and do this I think you'd be happy. I have been using Sony for years, mainly for landscapes, but have done some watch photography now using Laowa lenses, which are an upgrade I'd say from a vintage but not really needed.

This is also coming from a Fuji XT30 & X100t owner. I bought them really because they're smaller, lighter, and makes me slow down more to take photos. Overall tho, Sony is much easier to do macro with and is workhouse for landscape as well.
