New G-Shock Square

I just got a new Casio G-Shock GWM5610-1 the atomic solar watch. I had the quartz version of this watch in the early 80's. My question is was the old school 5610 larger? This new G-Shock seems smaller than I remember. I know it's thinner. That's not a bad thing. Thanks for any input.

Might just be a perspective thing.
