Unfortunate Accident

Welp, I did it. I was attempting to regulate my SKX173 mod and my tool tapped the balance spring and it no longer runs! Looks like I'm gonna need to get a new one. Normally this would really bother and dishearten me, but it's a lesson learned and means I get the experience of disassembling and reassembling the watch with a new movement. All-in-all taking it pretty well.

True. It'll be a good experience doing it again so it's not the end of the world tbh

I did the same (to my own SKX173 coincidentally) so I set the watch aside. I started fiddling with it after a few months, and magically it started working again.

Someone once told me "the best scars to have are the self-inflicted ones that you've learned something from." 😎

I did this, but luckily had a donor Seiko movement I could steal a balance assembly from! Now it’s running like a track star at +2 sec/day with a very healthy amplitude.
