Watch Humor from Time & Tide...

Just saw this meme posted by Time & Tide...

I was thinking...just how did they get that picture of me saying that ๐Ÿ˜‰

How many of us resemble that remark?

I would think I am crazy too (5 years ago)

look again into my empty bank account ๐Ÿ˜‚

Never have I been so offended for something I wholeheartedly agrees with

ยท

This was def me maybe 15 years ago when I was into sneakers. Learned my lesson from back then. I wouldnโ€™t go in debt for a watch.

100%

Not really me.. and not funny if it's the case for anyone. But yeah ๐Ÿ˜… very funny!!!

I am probably too responsible to be a serious collector ๐Ÿคฃ

Going into debt for anything is super destructive but at least watches can be either sold or pawned for very short term relief! I was trying to organize some space for the packing that watches come with and saw the dress suits in my closet that nobody wears anymore, that you cannot even donate or give away with covid concerns. The average presentable guy might buy 6 suits each year or more if he likes clothes the way a watch guy likes watches. You might catch smart remarks from the little timepiece fanboys when you strap on your 48mm rock but it is still fine. Try attending any proper event dressed like the Miami Vice guys. I have just rationalized some of my Post Purchase Blues feelings nicely!

I am not the family member with a problem, shoes that the Mrs wears for her errands and grocery shopping chores.

Too relatable ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Funny meme and somewhat relatable.

That being said, when people see my (watch, car, house, music gear, electronics, whatever) and think I'm rich.... I'm not rich, but am responsible. I spend money on things that "count" by making an impact on my enjoyment, and I bargain shop for most of them and don't make quick impulse purchases or take on credit debt to get them.

I have a friend that gave me $h!t when he saw me pull up to the dollar store in my car. I explained that the reason I have that car is that I still budget shop when applicable.

Let's face it though....watch purchases are all irresponsible unless you buy to sell later and flip them (which I never do)

Agreed...when you are fiscally responsible and earn enough to pay all your bills without taking on debt, then you can be irresponsible about how you spend your discretionary income.

Some will spends thousands on country club memberships and golf trips...they have the memories to look back on for those experiences. That's not for me, I prefer to have something more tangible to hold onto for my irresponsible spending.
