With the 3rd of five WWII planes that my grandson made for me with his 3D printer. The fighter plane that flew off US aircraft carriers in the Pacific, the Hellcat.

The model plane makes me want to buy a plane ticket to anywhere with a beach and some hot sun. The DH is perfect for the countdown. Stay dry and be safe today Tony.
Hmmmm if we get together for that drink I'll have to bring you one of the model planes from the desk of Thomas Paine, the head of NASA during the first moon landing.
I acquired most of his library and office material at auction. "From Here to the Moon" has a cool scene where Paine's desk is full of the models.
Here is just some of Paine's stuff I ended up with.

My feet are looking a little webbed. It's almost over here. So tomorrow you should see the end of it.
No relatives that were pilots Bill, though in WW II my father taught radar to pilots. My uncle was army and KIA in the Philippines. When I was a kid I just liked to build models of WW II planes. So when my grandson asked "what can I build for you?", I went straight to the planes. The B-17 was also a favorite of mine, that was in my last post of this watch.
