By the time I got my last watch (the Boldr Venture), I’d been eyeing pilot’s and similar style watches. And wanted to continue supporting Long Island Watch, so I ultimately decided on the ISL-53. It’s still one of my favorite watches. The lume isn’t amazing, but it otherwise just gets better every time I look at it. Add the slightly domed sapphire crystal, screw down crown, date complication, and display case back and it’s an excellent watch. It’s on a Barton silicone/nylon hybrid strap, here.

It is a great watch! I went ahead and also got the bracelet Marc designed for it, although that is now on my new #ISL-134 and this one is on the blue suede strap that came with the #ISL-34. It actually looks pretty good, as the red stitching almost matches the second hand of the #ISL-53. 😀
I had one of those for a little while. I was going to swap the hands to make it more of an explorer homage but I got a sinn 556a and sold the Islander to a buddy. It was a great watch though.

Nice! I’m super tempted to spring for the bracelet but haven’t pulled the trigger yet for whatever reason.

I so want an Explorer x.x But I know what you mean - the 556 is gorgeous, too!
