Hello wonderful people,

I am currently doing an Entrepreneurship Course and since I am thinking about watches 24/7 anyway, I thought I'd try to channel this obsession into something productive.

Would you please do me a favor, one watch enthusiast to another, and answer these three simple questions?

Questions:

  1. Which device do you use to track your health data (heart rate, step counter, etc.)?

  2. Why did you choose this way and what are your frustrations with this type of device?

  3. Does wearing a mechanical watch stop you from wearing a health tracking wearable and the other way around?

It would really help me out. Thank you in advance :)

  1. I use 2 Garmin devices - a Fenix 7 for tracking runs/cycling and a Vivosmart 4 for daily wear (used to wear the Fenix 7 pretty much 24/7 until I realised it was messing my arm up).

  2. I run/cycle for fitness so the Fenix 7 was my 'daily beater' until I noticed the impact on my skin from leaving it on day/night. In terms of frustrations - a) the messed up skin b) it's pretty ugly c) not much else really, it's great at its job.

  3. No, if I'm wearing a 'normal' watch I just wear the Vivosmart 4 on my opposite wrist, it just looks like a rubbish rubber bracelet.

1 I don't.

2,why would I want to track my fitness? I know how I feel

3 zero interest in a smarwatch or any other devices that can track me, I rarely take my phone out with me.

  1. I just sonetimes wear a smartwatch when on the treadmill to try to stay in a specific heart beat range, step cont doesn't matter and for sleep, I know if I slept well or not.

2. N/A

3. N/A

Sry I also don’t use any “smart wearables”

I don't wear a smart watch or health tracker.

I did wear a Shotscope golf smart watch while playing golf, to know distance to green, distance over hazard, etc. But Shotscope now has a carabineer variant for clipping to your golf bag.

I'm also gonna just leave this here as to why.....👀🤏🏻🤐😝🫣 (Taken from Stirling Timepieces Instagram)

I jut wear a smart watch when I’m working out.

I’ve been considering acquiring a Circular Ring for tracking health/fitness data without wearing a smart watch.

  1. I don’t and don’t feel the need.

  2. Because there is no benefit for me having that data.

  3. Common sense stops me from wearing any kind of devices able to track me or make me look like a narcissist taking pictures of myself every second of the day :-)

  1. I use my Suunto 5 when hiking, running, working out.

  2. I chose it because my friend needed to get rid of it, so I bought it off him. I don't have many frustrations with it. It does what it needs to do, for my needs it perhaps has too many functions which I'll never use (like sleep tracking).

  3. Yes, I wear my mechanical as my main watch and only wear the Suunto when doing some fitness related activity.

I don't anymore but when I did I double wristed. The ick-factor got too much for me. You wear the tracker 24-7. When working out, when sleeping. And the strap material doesn't breath, so it gets nasty fast. That little morning and midday watch wash down isn't enough.

I know people love them but when I can smell the wrist cheese when you're near me something went seriously wrong. (Doesn't help that my nose is better than most)
