Check out The Watch Book and The Watch Book 2.  Both are by Gisbert Brunner.  Not only are they great coffee table books but the history about the brands that are highlighted and the watches that are featured are fantastic!  I highly recommend.

The best book I've found is "The Wristwatch Handbook" by Ryan Schmidt. It's extremely informative, and not brand specific.  I also like "The Watch Book - Rolex" by Gisbert Brunner, as well as "Moonwatch Only" by Gregoire Rossier & Anthonly Marquie.
