White diver’s. I like them, but what do you think?

Generally speaking, diver’s are not my favorite type of watch. I find most of them to be boring and since they share so many common design elements I’m also having difficulties to differentiate between them, especially those of the black dial persuasion.

I’m sure that finding the differences would be easy with a bit of effort, but why should I invest this effort in the first place? They are boring me so much that I even have an acronym for them: The Yet Another Boring Black Dial Diver, aka YABBDD.

However, the thing with generalities is that there are always exceptions. Like in the case of the 62MAS for example, which is a diver’s that I’ve always been attracted to, or the Marathon MSAR.

The MSAR is not a YABBDD. There’s nothing else quite like it and part of the appeal (for me) is the way that it doesn’t even try to be pretty. The other reason is the color of the dial: I like that it’s white.

Image

I own very few watches with a white dial and the MSAR is the only diver’s among them. They also appear to be a minority when I look at posts and WRUW. Most of the divers have a black dial, there are some with colorful and striking dials, but there’s really not a lot of white dial diver’s around. Maybe it’s time to do a headcount?

So, today I’m wearing the white arctic MSAR. I’m doing my part – now it’s up to you to show what you have and tell us why you decided to get them.

I want a white dial diver but keep buying ones with black dials. Don‘t know whats wrong with me. 😅

I’m a dive watch fan, I love em luckily I never get bored of them, I agree with you on the white dials I have two that I really love

Firstly one I built, just love the sharpness to the dial, the colour of the numerals I call it zero

Then there’s my superocean, it’s just so striking in white

White is a great dial for divers but little used….

If I were to pick up a diver, I would actually gravitate toward white rather than a classic black as, for me, it would serve mostly as a summer watch paired with FKM rubber straps. The white dial basically gives you unlimited strap pairing options.

Maybe you are color blind and can't tell the difference?
