Arguably the whole concept of wearing a wristwatch doesn't make a lot of sense when we are surrounded with digital gadgets and we carry a cellphone in our pocket.
Lucky for us, we are not in the business of making sense and therefore we can continue to enjoy the weird "Destination F*cked" videos of Ozzy Man and keep wearing our Superman.
One could argue that the Superman does make some sense if you really need a bronze cased watch with a 300m WR which can exorcise any notion that the BB58 is neat.
But it still doesn't explain the crown lock on the Superman. It's basically there because of association and not because of a need or because it makes any sense. The Superman, like most other diver's has a 120 click unidirectional bezel and doesn't need an external lock. Maybe it did in back the 60's when it had a friction fitted bezel, but not anymore.
Therefore the lock doesn't make any sense but Yema kept it because it's one of the thing that makes a Superman, which is fine. I like it because it makes the Superman different, but I'm not going to claim that it's a real feature with added benefits.
It's completely superfluous. It's just there to make me happy which is exactly why I need it on my Superman.
