I just received an email from Jomashop promoting the sales of watches from Corum.
I can't remember clearly, but I'm pretty sure that they used to be "something", sometime ago. Is it another brand that went bust, or did they just sunk into relative obscurity after a short period of fame?
I'll appreciate if someone more knowledgeable can fill in more details

Founded in the 1950s and bought by a Chinese company in 2013. That’s about all I’ve got.
For sure Corum used to be sort of special but that was a long time ago. They were expensive but never a design that I cared about. I seem to recall the brand gained some success with bubble watches that were fun, something to do with the devil.
They were the preferred brand to hate on before Hublot came along. It is more a complaint about taste rather than quality.
