Against the dark

I don’t like gloomy days. I don’t mind rain but I do mind waking up in the morning to a gray overcast sky, making me feel like the Garfield in the rough episode where he complains that all the color has gone out of his life. It’s depressing.

So I’m adding some splashes of color to counter it, and wearing colorful watches is a way to brighten the day. The Nomos Ahoi did its part yesterday and today is the turn of the Dietrich SD-1 to shine, and shine it does. I previously mentioned in my review that light is refracted through he sapphire bezel insert and create a faint blue halo and it makes me smile because it looks like one of those photos of an ion drive used for long space missions.

There's also the little fish on the crown to remind me that not everything should be taken seriously.

And keep smiling is important because the last couple of years were nothing to write home, unfortunately.

Very nice watch. I've never seen a sapphire bezel or how it might glow. 😯

I have my fur babies to keep me company in the cold winter.

But yeah it's been a rough few years here as well.

I also like a playful watch so I've been thinking of customizing one. Not sure which though. I think maybe the Citizen.

The winter is indeed the time when the furry little parasites are winning their upkeep.
