Grand feu enamel dials

Dear All,

What do you all think about grand feu enamel dials? Are they special? Are they any more special/satisfying than other types of high quality dials? Yes we all know that they are hard to manufacture, but do they look the part?

Q2. What color? Dark or light enamel? White or black to be specific?

Wow, that white dial is stunning. A beautiful looking watch, no question. Go for it 👍

If someone can afford it, a hand made Gran Feu dial should be a part of anyone's watch collection in my opinion.

I'm looking at a black version actually. They say dark ones are actuality much harder to make. I'm thinking this instead of that Bel Canto I have been annoying everyone with lately lol

Ah yes, this is your watch to mark a significant birthday?

Currently, I'm more drawn to white dials because I only have 1 in my collection. The black dial is beautiful as well, I just find white enamel dials more striking than dark dials.

Yes I am thinking about it) I know I would also prefer white dial because there would be no mismatch with the calendar and because there are more black dials in my collection and no white. But the watch that's on sale now is black dial so if I go this route, it will be the black one. Asi es la vida... Such is life 🤷

UN is a master of enameling, oftenly overlooked by many when enameling "masters" are mentioned. Few links here:

It is true that majority of their models are not for everybody ( also not for me personally ) but their marine chronometers accuracy, designs and dials are on another level. Could be I am a bit bias as I own one ( not enamel but still ) and will buy more of them in the future. Need to do some saving first as they don't come cheap 😀

I would go for white version. Beware as they wear larger due to slim bezel design.
