Great everyday watch. Feel like something’s missing

Had this for maybe 6-7 months now and it’s awesome, fits great, looks wonderful and goes well with quite a few straps but I just have you to fall in love with the thing. It’s my first “luxury” watch purchase and it feels weird to sell, but i don’t know what to do! I enjoy wearing it daily. But can’t justify buying another $1000 or so watch to see if I like that more. It checks all the boxes but is missing something, soul perhaps. Idk. Here’s some photos!

I understand. If you sell it you know you’ll not get your money back (curse of the hobby).

It’s important to really love your watch.

Make some memories with it! That'll give it some soul!

I think that can happen... That for whatever reason a good watch just doesn't click with you. Sometimes a new strap or bracelet can give you a new appreciation. Or some memories get attached. Or maybe it just grows on you... Or not. You can always sell it on, and use the proceeds towards whatever catches your eye next. Whatever happens, I hope you end up with something that makes you smile every time you look down at your wrist! 🍻

I think what’s missing is balance and contrast in the overall design. I see subtle yet troubling design decisions that may cause someone to not connect with the visual elements of the dial and colour choices.

Only you can decide what your next move will be. I suggest putting it on a rich brown leather strap to see if you can highlight some of those subtle dial colours. Right now, it’s just beige on beige on beige. Not visually interesting at all.

I'm with @Davemcc. I think this is a situation where I think you could use some color.

A brown leather could do it but I'd almost go with a FKM rubber or a sailcloth to give it some texture or different colors. I think a navy sailcloth would do great on the dune.

Great idea! Def gonna try some new straps.

That's it for me exactly. I don't care too much about the brand or the price, etc. If it is relatively accurate and robust, and "makes me smile when I look at my wrist," then it's a keeper. 😎

Nice watch. 👍

Cute puppy 🫶

I have this with one of my watches, a zelos Blacktip in Titanium. It’s a gorgeous watch, looks great, spec monster but I just haven’t clicked with it like I have with my other watches. And I think it is actually something as small as the hands aren’t pointy! If i look at my other watches and watches on my hit list they all have pointy hands.

My point is it might be a small design q that you don’t like on a watch that is on this, but because its maybe a subtle design q you haven’t realised yet!

I think a big thing to know if you love your watch is does it put you in danger! As in your driving and you can’t help but to look down at your wrist to look at the watch. If you do that you must have some love for it 😂

Agree. Its a wonder to me why ppl sell watches.

Was looking at the Dune editions... But I arrived at the thought that only the GMT Dune would come close to justify the expense BECAUSE I also felt something missing in the design... Even though I'm in love with the colors (and the limited edition "Shore" version is out of this world beautiful).

Oh, sometimes I just need to get rid of one that I no longer love and raise funds for a new one. It’s not uncommon.

Well when I saw the dune GMT I was pretty devastated. I would love that over this. Not that this is bad, it’s great! But that subtle green just adds so much character

To be fair, I had the same impulse, what forced the pull back was finding it on Reddit r/watchexchange for $799 w/Bracelet... And at that price it would be Zero Questions (high rated seller - r/connormanquen for those reading this and want to get)... Somehow him letting it go gave me pause and kept eye on Dune GMT's = Extra Complication + Colors + Great Quality and Case... So now, that's my target... But will make room for that special LE "Shore" version if it comes up anywhere since it sold out within seconds.
