Citizen eco drive - replacement strap
Hi all. I have just purchased the Citizen eco drive field watch and am finding the 18mm strap a little on the narrow side. Has anyone else changed the strap out for a leather one with a 22mm band that allows for the 18mm lug connection or can anyone suggest a suitable replacement? All advice appreciated . Thanks. Andy

Perhaps Vario's leather straps for the Casio World Timer? It's a 22mm strap that you can mount on an 18mm lug.

You're welcome, Andy! I have to admit that I was hesitant to recommend this at first because I didn't know if it would work on your Citizen, but the Vario straps are very well made and offer excellent value for the price. Make sure to post some pics when you've mounted them!

Thank you Ron. On closer scrutiny I’m not so sure it will work. The lugs have a pointed termination that may mean the suggested Vario strap won’t be compatible. Going to have to try and figure it out…

Well, there might also be the option of using the Jay and Kay adapters to enable you to use 22mm straps on a watch with 18mm lugs, but again, it's difficult for me to tell without knowing what your watch looks like...

I took the plunge and ordered the Vario strap in oiled pecan. Fingers crossed…. Will post outcome on here so others can learn from my success/failure once received.

***UPDATE***
Well here it is - complete with new Vario oiled leather strap in Pecan.
It’s not ‘perfect’ but it’s a massive improvement and on the whole I’m really pleased. The Vario strap (Casio AE1200WH Workd Time) is really nice quality in my humble opinion. It’s really comfortable and appears well made. I think it suits the Citizen really quite well.
Kudos again to skyblue (Ron) for the recommendation.
