Advice needed. Love my B&R Chrono. Hate this clasp. Suggestions? Tips?

Hey gang,

I love my B&R chrono, but I'm getting the fits with this sliding buckle clasp. It forces me to use all my other straps as a result. (not that that's a bad thing...) Once it's on, it's comfortable, and the micro adjustments are a plus, but it's me against the band when I'm putting it on.

Thoughts, tips on this attachment style? Anyone conquer this? I can affix it prior to sliding it over my fist, but I feel like eventually one of the pins will be airborne. (and not in a cool way)

I searched prior conversations, and I don't see this has surfaced in the past.

Thanks in advance!

I think Erika's Original makes those straps for B&R, and I have been wearing Erika's straps for about four years now.

They take a bit of getting accustomed to, but once you do, putting it on and taking it off becomes second nature. I find them the most comfortable type of strap out there, and well worth the effort of figuring out a "system" for putting it on.

I place the tip of my pointer finger under the upper side of the buckle, and use my thumb to push the hook onto the buckle. When I'm not thinking about it it's easy, the more I think about it the more difficult it is. 😂

First, thanks for that tip. That’s probably the one side of the buckle I did not try to lift up. It definitely made it easier. I think with some muscle memory that will become second nature. That gives me hope to hear that with some practice you’re not even thinking about it. To your point, they are definitely comfortable once I get them on. Second, I have seen Erika’s straps, I think they call it the trident, and it looked very similar to this one. There is a blue one I want to try out from them, so glad to hear that you are a fan. That’s always helpful! Thanks for helping me out here.👍🏼👍🏼

I hate these straps for that reason.

I did not have enough patience to keep it.

Part of the enjoyment to me is that it is comfortable in all regards, including the fit.

·

Understood for sure. That’s why I am trying to get this to be something I can manage on a regular basis without getting frustrated. Because it is definitely comfortable once it’s on.

@Bluecatsup There are some simple elastic straps which, at least based on my own feeling, are as comfortable but without the hardware.

For example Delugs call it "Elastic loop":

Just in case it's of interest to you.

+1 in the "don't even think about it camp" - I landed on the same technique as @KristianG and really enjoy the comfort and ease of these straps

Bin the strap. There are so many alternatives.

Looks pretty cool. You have one? If so, has it stretched out?

It was very helpful! Thanks for locating that and sending it my way. Some helpful pointers for sure. 👍🏼

That definitely has made a difference. I have fiddled with it now, and the last six or seven times it has gotten much easier. And love that strap on your G-Shock by the way.👍🏼👍🏼

I’m going to keep fighting with it, because now it’s a personal challenge. But, I am going to borrow your word “Bin”, which I assume means, throw it in the bin or trash. That’s what I love about this network, I get the cultural exposure, without traveling to the UK. (I’ve only been there once, but have forgotten some of the cool vernacular)

Love it👍🏼

I purchased one and then a second one in a different color.

It holds up very well. The only thing is to make sure you take the right size, of course, their size table worked well for me.

I don't get on with MN straps either, try CWC mil-spec elastic NATO's- cheap comfortable and the real deal. Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻

OK, I like the sound of that. I am on my way to work, but I will check it out later today.

Another option that doesn’t have the buckle issue are Nick Mankey’s Hook straps. You just stretch it over your hands to put them on. Only downside is that it takes about 3 months to get because of back orders. Love them on my FXD:
