Just back from service

Ok what they say about the El Primero movements is true.. at least for me. Chrono stopped working out of the blue. I've owned the watch for 6 months. It just came back from service, $1,550 later and is working once more

My SS daytona did not need a service until after seven years of HARD daily use. Cost $900.

It is what it is. 馃し Just wish I knew what I did for the Zenith to shit the bed so early in my ownership.

Still dig the watch. But it feels fragile to me now.

Sorry to hear this, can you provide some more detail? If this was a brand new watch, why wasn't it covered under warranty? and if not new, how old was the watch. What exactly did they diagnose the issue as, can you show us the breakdown of the costs? I think others here would be interested in this as well.

I bought it from a Swiss dealer off chrono24. I don't know how old it was. I should have bargained harder to adjust for the price of a possible service. I had been searching for a blue dial version of the watch for a hot minute and my FOMO took over. Totally my fault. I can't knock the dealer on that lol

The watchmaker explained to me what the problem was but I was very busy with the recent birth of my son and was mid move so I didn't pay much attention 馃槖 to the details.

But I'll ping them tomorrow to see what exactly the problem was.

Ah here we are... So the reputation of reliability issues with Zenith seem to be ringing true . Just purchased an older el primero with manual wind calibre 420z movement myself and hoping I can avoid this sort of servicing. I look forward to your update on specifics of your issue and repair. Keep enjoying that beauty.

Sorry to hear. I've been going back and forth on the previous version of their triple calendar Moonphase. This is the first I'm hearing of reliability issues. Certainly interested in the info of the follow up ping. Hopefully you're in the clear now and can enjoy that beautiful watch.

Sorry to hear this. I'd definitely be interested in hearing more. Hopefully you'll share updates. No issues with mine so far, approaching one year.
