The Massena LAB x Revolution Uni-Racer 1949!

Oops!... I did it again. I played with your heart, got lost in the game.

And I blame @ChronoGuy for the seed of an idea that grew into an obsession over the past week. I talked about the watch with my colleagues, I read up on Massena lab to learn more about the little that I know, and I kept the watch on my second screen at work and kept staring at it to see if I really wanted it or not.

What do I like about it?

I immediately loved the Roman numeral, orangey/peach sector hour track, the complicated look of the tachymeter and minute track, the orange syringe hands (and I stand corrected chronoguy that I do like the accent of the blue outline). It has somewhat of a retro, yet modern feel.

The lume is sweet as well.

Apparently, it's based off a very rare and old patek chronograph. I searched for the original, but nowhere to be found because it's a one of a kind, a 'piece unique'.

Details of the watch

39mm diameter x 13mm height

Sellita SW510 automatic movement, Elabore grade (one up from basic), +/7 seconds/day. 58h power reserve

Closed case back bc it's a meh movement, but reliable

limited edition of 120 pieces

When I receive the watch next month (hopefully), I'm keen to see how thick it is and how it sits on my wrist. I'm excited about it and I'll post when I get it.

@ChronoGuy, thanks again for sharing this watch, I succumbed to temptation. I told myself I was taking a break after getting 4 this year, but here I am again. Geeze, this is an addiction.

Congrats! We can twin when our watches arrive 😂

It's going to be a beauty...I have never regretted purchasing any of the Revolution / Grail Watch collaborations.

Here are some blasts from the past...

Dude, you have a sick amount of watches. Impressive. I love that uni racer, the Franck muller chronos (wow v different to their usual stuff), the zenith, and the PF is classy.

Shout when you receive yours!

The Franck Muller chronos are the early designs FM produced back in the 1980s based on the early Patek chrono designs. They then moved on the tonneau shape they are now famous for (which incidentally was another Patek prototype design they homaged).

The FM chronos actually have the original Lemania movements in them. Wei Koh was able to get FM to go into their archives and find NOS Lemania movements from the 1980s.

Great video about them here...

Thanks so much for sharing these videos. I've always written off FM as a watch with crazy numerals that aren't for me, but wow these 90s chronographs are beautiful. Time to go down a rabbit hole...

Oh and the FM hits my current sweet spot of a breguet numeral Chronograph... Currently, my front runner is the patek bc of the applied numerals:

You know Wei Koh loves those Breguet numerals…that’s probably one of the reasons I really dig his collaborations.
