My mother loves watches and passed that love to me. I started collecting with intention in 2017 when I bought an Oris Aquis to celebrate finishing my MS.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Seiko ladies dress that was a birthday present from my parents. My mother loves to give and receive watches. Just gave her a NOS 1974 Seiko ladies sports, red with faceted crystal.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Not really but I’ve drug my husband along on this journey for so long that we basically share a collection. Almost any new watch that comes in now has to work for both of us.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
If the chase is more fun than the owning and wearing then you are not trusting your own instincts about the best watch for you.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Grand Seiko, AnOrdain, Lorier, Halios, Glashutte Original, Archimede, Brew, Farer, Muhle Glashutte, Tudor. Always Seiko and forever Oris.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Right now there are two on my list. Tudor BB58 (never had any interest in Tudor until I tried one on and it was all over)and GS SBGX341 (the perfect watch). I would love a GO diver but my self imposed cutoff is $3500. Would also love a Miffy Moonphase but they’re too rare to catch.
