What Seiko is that?

It's a home build. I purchase the parts separately. Just watched the YouTube channel ' it's another watch' and followed his idea..

·

But doesn't using a Seiko dial on a
"home build" pretty much put this in a category looked down upon by the majority of watch collectors?

Most watch modders use duals with Seiko logos. I’ve been trying to avoid them in my recent builds but I spend so much time dial hunting now :(  I think as long as your saying it’s a build or mod and not trying to sell it as a Sieko it’s fine. Even TGV has had builds done with the Seiko Dial. :).

Is that the Namoki MM conversion case? I have one of those and haven’t been able to find a bracelet that fits. Never thought of trying a Heimdallr Bracelet. Nice job on the build

·

Yes all Namoki except the bracelet, movemet and hands which i already had.  I don't class myself as a collector of watches more of a hoarder. Never sold a watch, just put together things I like. Its just a watch, got to tell the time and not be afraid of damage.

I don’t sell my builds either just a hobby I enjoy.  Which Heimdallr bracelet? I’m assuming this one

Don’t worry about it I can do the leg work to figure it out thanks. Been wanting a bracelet for it and the Strapcode one I bought doesn’t fit.

Check out these guys for (mostly) unbranded dials:

komo works are a bit more expensive, but have some amazing dials imo.

if you want any more sites to visit you can go here and cross reference parts you need for seiko modding: https://www.reddit.com/r/SeikoMods/comments/hju0ws/rseikomods_sticky_mod_part_suppliers_tutorials/

Sorry to go off topic here but Barry1968 I want to thank you. Your sentance;

Its just a watch, got to tell the time and not be afraid of damage.

is going to totally change my philosophy on wearing my watches. Thank you friend. I can't wait to fully enjoy my "only for special occasions" pieces.

Not sure I agree but whatever floats your boat.

Thanks Komoworks is new to me. I tried a logo less dial from watch and style one but the dial just needs something in that logo spot or it looks odd to me. I’ve been thinking of hand painting something in the logo spot.

Well part of me obviously agrees with you or I wouldn't be slowly pulling the Seiko Dials out of my mods and replacing them. However, if your looking at a modded watch or custom build 70 to 80% of the time you see a Seiko logo on the Dial and that seems to be widely accepted. I suspect Seiko is alright with it as they make some good profits selling OEM parts and NH movements to modders. However, I do believe that if your doing a custom build it should be custom not a exact copy of an existing Seiko.
